Abstract

INTRODUCTION: Tendinopathy, as the name says, is inflammation of the tendons. Tendon is the fibrous part by which a muscle attaches to a bone. These may have several causes tendonitis, and located throughout the body. The tendon Prickly supra and its bursa (bursa scattered through the main joints) are the most affected. Technological advances have led to an increasing enhancement of transducers and software and, consequently, a progressive development of the applicability of ultrasound as a method of diagnostic imaging. OBJECTIVE: Establish the frequency of the most common findings on ultrasound examination of the supraspinatus. METHODOLOGY: A retrospective study of ultrasound examinations of the shoulder, made in Fertile Clinical Diagnostics, located in Goiânia-GO between the period January 2010 to November 2010 in addition to a systematic review of bibliographies related to ultrasound, tendonitis, muscle, cord above including advanced research on electronic journals. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The frequency of ultrasound examinations of the supraspinatus tendinopathy was with 45.28% of the sample, followed by cases of bursitis with 28.30% reduction in the subacromial space with 11.32%.
