Successful management and cure of gestational trophoblastic disease (GTD) depends upon prompt, accurate diagnosis and institution of individualized therapeutic modalities. Because GTD encompasses a multitude of clinical entities, each with myriad presentations, clinicians must remain alert to identify patients exhibiting signs and symptoms consistent with GTD. The focus of this article is the diverse manifestations as well as the diagnosis by ultrasound of theca lutein cysts of the ovary.
