Ultrasonography in the polycystic ovarian syndrome
update
Keywords:
ultrasound, polycystic ovary syndrome, anovulationAbstract
European Society for Human Reproduction and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine in 2003 suggested that polycystic ovary syndrome is diagnosed when two of the following criteria are recognized: oligomenorrhea and/or anovulation, clinical or biochemical signs of hyperandrogenism, ultrasound findings of polycystic ovary. This review intends to show the importance of ultrasound in polycystic ovary syndrome diagnostic.
