Abstract

OBJECTIVES: To establish the frequency of endometriosis in transvaginal ultrasonography with differentiated bowel preparation. Establish the frequency of endometriosis findings according to the anatomical topography. To establish the frequency of endometriosis findings according to the UBBESS classification MATERIAL AND METHODS: A cross-sectional retrospective study in which 97 transvaginal ultrasound examinations with differentiated bowel preparation were performed between August 2017 and March 25, 2018. RESULTS: Among patients with clinical suspicion of endometriosis evaluated by USG-TV, 1% were <20 years old, 79.4% were 20-40 years old, and 19.6% were> 40 years old. Among the sample evaluated, 98% of the women presented ultrasound findings characteristic of endometriosis, corroborating the clinical suspicion. Among the anatomical compartments affected, the highest frequency was of the pelvic compartment with 97.9%, followed by abdominal wall and upper abdomen, both with 1.05%. Regarding the UBESS classification, 58.9% were stage 1, 17.9% stage 2 and 23.2% stage 3. CONCLUSION: The frequency of endometriosis on staged ultrasound is 98%. The most affected topography is the female pelvis. According to the UBESS classification for endometriosis, the most common finding was level 1.
