Abstract

The body stalk anomaly is a rare entity characterized by a rudimentary or absent umbilical cord, associatéd with a large and disfiguring abdominal wall defect, severe kyphoscoliosis, which may coexist changes in the limbs and enlarged nuchal translucency measurements. Your identification is very important once the prognosis, monitoring and advice from the expert differs in relation to the main differential diagnoses that are isolatéd forms of abdominal wall defects (omphalocele and gastroschisis).
